Teaser 5 from Frost Burn
Over the tick of the clock and the hum of the cooler, she heard a board squeak in the kitchen. She stiffened as she realized the ‘we’ he spoke of a moment ago had arrived through the backdoor. One of the kitchen doors swung open and the first of five more vamps stepped into the main barroom.
They wanted her alive, but what they wanted her alive for, and what... they might force her to do, was more than enough for her to decide she’d prefer to be dead. Jerking her arm back, she let her stake fly with deadly accuracy at the first vamp who had walked through the swinging door. She had no shot of hitting the one she’d been speaking with, but these five weren’t completely prepared for her. They would be now as the stake found its intended target and the vampire let out a howl. The stricken vamp fell back, his fingers grasped frantically at the stake embedded deep within his heart. Even if he pulled it free, it was too late for him; his life was over.
Without missing a step, she bent low and tugged the two remaining stakes from her boots. She wouldn’t be able to throw these, but if they got close enough to her she would make them rethink ever trying to touch her again. She rose back to her full height just as one of the others tossed aside their dead friend and hefted a barstool over his head.

Teaser 4 from Frost Burn
“You have instincts Quinn, what are they telling you?”
“That I should run as far from you as possible.”
Her blunt answer caused his eyebrow to rise. “Why?”
“Deep down I don’t believe you’re a killer, anymore, but you were once and you scare the crap out me.”
“I’m not frightening.”
“You’re terrifying. The way you make me feel, the things I’ve told you. You barged into my life, you tore it apart and I don’t know what to think or do anymore.”
He’d been steadily approaching her while she spoke. She went to step away from him, but he clasped hold of her wrist. “Do you really find me terrifying?” he inquired as he tugged her up against his chest. Her eyes were the color of gold as she tilted her head back her lips parted. His fingers entwined with hers, he pulled her arm gently up and behind her back.
Excitement pulsed through his body; he took a step back, pressing her against the wall. “Julian.” The husky whisper of the word only electrified his skin further.
He rested his hand beside her head and bent to look into her eyes. “Am I really that frightening, Quinn?”
“Yes,” she whispered.

Teaser 3 from Frost Burn
Quinn had been hoping she’d be wrong and Julian wouldn’t be sitting in her hallway. However, it hadn’t surprised her to see him there. She felt his eyes burning into her as she walked around him. She resented that he’d inserted himself into her life but she had to admit he looked more delicious than any peanut butter cup right now.
His hair was tussled; a shadow lined his square jaw. His icy eyes were sleep h...eavy but the predatory gleam in them made her body quicken in response. She was supposed to be staying as far from this man as possible, not admiring him.
“Is your hair dyed?” she blurted. It was the most inane question but it had been meant as a way to distract herself from the urge to jump him.
He frowned as he ran a hand through his platinum blond hair. “Do I look like the kind of guy who would dye his hair?”
“You look like the kind of guy who would rip off someone’s head and use it as a soccer ball so I imagine you’d be up for anything.”
A smirk curved his luscious mouth. “I can assure you Dewdrop, I’m not much for soccer but I am one hundred percent natural. I was simply blessed with these abnormally striking good looks.” Well no one could ever accuse him of having no self-confidence or being shy, she realized. “I can always prove I’m a natural blond if you’d like me to,” he added with a suggestive waggle of his eyebrows.
There wasn’t one drop of saliva left in her mouth but as enticing as the proposition was, and she wasn’t above admitting it was extremely enticing, it could never happen. “Thanks but no,” she responded with more composure than she felt.
“Your mouth says no but your eyes say yes.”
Her skin felt like it crackled as fury slithered over her. How he’d managed to survive for as long as he had without someone killing him completely mystified her. She may be the one to remedy that by the time she was able to free herself from him. “Believe me that’s not what my eyes are saying,” she bit out.
“Murder and passion are a fine line, no?”
“Ugh!” she shouted. She threw her hands up, turned on her heel and stormed into the kitchen. Peanut butter cups and Mountain Dew weren’t going to be enough to take the edge off.
